 Manhattan International
Transportation, Inc. (MITI) is a woman-owned small business incorporated in the
State of Virginia in 1993. It commenced full operations in the
fall of 1994 when it was selected for the Environmental Protection
Agency for its shuttle bus service. MITI's organization
and operations routinely involve both special project and scheduled
tasks. MITI and/or its senior executives have been in the
transportation business since 1975, some twenty-six years.
Their experience in providing services include:
- Scheduled and unscheduled bus,
mini-bus and limousine services for seven inaugurals.
- Numerous convention activities
for both scheduled routes and unscheduled activities. Many
such events required the scheduled movement of over 1,000 persons per day.
- Selected by a large government
agency in 1994 for a contract involving eight
scheduled routes as well as executive motor pool operations,
maintenance supervision and dispatching of agency officials.
Assisted in revising their protocols for both scheduling and
maintenance of vehicles. This contract involved rider-ship
of approximately 40,850 persons per month.
- Operating daily shuttle service
for a major office/retail complex in downtown Washington, DC
with 7 am to 7 pm service every 15 minutes. Daily transportation
of 600-700 passengers.
- "On-Call" and daily
transportation for one of the nation's largest
associations - providing bus, mini-bus, van and sedan transport.
- Provision of daily "On-Call"
transportation for national intelligence and DOD related
clients.
- Operation of daily morning and
evening shuttle services for a highly affluent suburban housing
community to and from various Metro stops.
- Transportation services are also
provided to a wide range of high security agencies in
and around the metropolitan area.
- MITI provided police escorts,
sedans, vans, limousines, mini-buses and 55 passenger buses for
the October 11th memorial services which
were attended by more than 40,000.
- Manhattan also provides for the
transportation needs of a highly elite clientele of national and
international business, financial, government and entertainment
figures.
